Election technology · Parent company of iElect
Every vote, accounted for.
SciTun Technologies builds iElect: software that helps parties, observers, election bodies and citizens collect, check and follow results from the polling unit to the final tally. We started in Nigeria. We are building for Africa.
The problem we work on
Democracy runs on trust. The systems behind it often can’t carry the weight.
Across Africa, many of the barriers to taking part in elections, and to believing their results, are problems of information, distance and verification. Those are problems technology can help solve.
Verification at scale
Results travel from thousands of polling units through ward, local and state collation. Every hand-off is a chance for error or dispute, and no observer mission can watch them all.
Information gaps
Misinformation spreads faster than verified facts. Voters struggle to find reliable information about candidates, and campaign promises are rarely tracked once the votes are counted.
Distance and connectivity
Rural communities are far from polling stations and from reliable internet. That keeps them out of the conversation and pulls turnout down.
Disengagement
Most Africans are under 25, yet young people, women and citizens with low literacy remain under-represented in formal politics.

Our first market
Built for an election the size of Nigeria’s.
Africa’s largest democracy is our first market and our toughest test. Our results tools are built for the scale of a Nigerian general election.

How we build
Designed for where elections actually happen.
Not every polling unit has power, let alone 4G. Our design rules start from that fact.
Works offline
Field tools queue reports and sync when the signal returns, so a dead zone doesn't become a missing result.
Light on data
Built for 2G and 3G connections and entry-level Android phones, because that is what most agents and voters carry.
Local by default
Modelled on African electoral systems: their result forms, their collation hierarchies, their languages.
Auditable end to end
Every figure keeps a trail back to the polling unit, the sheet and the person who submitted it.
Who we work with
Everyone with a stake in a credible result.
- Election bodies
- Situation rooms, incident reporting and transparent results publication.
- Parties and candidates
- Agent networks, results collation and volunteer management.
- Citizens and observers
- A parallel count anyone can join with a phone camera.
- Civil society and media
- Verified data to monitor elections and report on them.
Let’s make the next election more transparent.
We work with electoral bodies, parties, civil society, development partners and investors who share that goal.
